Hog Roast In Altrincham

HOG ROAST IN ALTRINCHAM

We landed on site in Altrincham for Sarah and Dean’s 25th Wedding celebration, just after 6pm for an 8pm serve. Slight delay with the traffic, unusually busy tonight. The venue was at Sarah and Deans home address. We love catering at home address’ just as much as venues. They have a very personal feel to them, and we definitely feel a bigger part of the event.

28 lucky family members and friends in total were invited to the hog celebration. All of them lovely. Especially Lucy, Sarah and Dean’s daughter, who looked after us whilst we were there. With non-alcoholic beverages, I must add!

The weather was great, which made a nice change from all the rain we had been having in the lead up to the weekend.  The atmosphere was great. From the start, it was exactly what you expect at an event like this.

The hog was soon filling the air with the normal aromas, and the gazebo and tables were set up, giving a lovely space to operate from. The apple sauce was served warm, and the smell of fresh apples infused with cinnamon is another amazing aroma floating around the garden and beyond.

As usual guests were starting to hover around the hog roast, looking on in amazement and taking photos.  There’s something about seeing the hog cooking and knowing what’s coming that gets everyone talking. And without fail, we get the usual question: “So, how long has this been cooking then?”

Serve time was amongst us, the queue was slowly taking place. It was a very relaxed event. Once guests were fed they seemed to be rejoining the que, some haveing seconds and some even thirds!

The crackling was superb as normal, very crispy, and quite salty. We used a pink Himalayan sea salt at this event. We do like to mix the salts up from event to event — as it does make subtle differences. There were plenty of comments about the quality of the meat and how fresh everything tasted. The homemade coleslaw always has guests asking for the recipe. That’s a guarantee at every event. The secret is just quality fresh cabbage, carrots and onion mixed with an organic mayonnaise. All from our local farm shop.

We also had a caprese salad. Vine tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and mixed with the aforementioned salt and a splash of extra virgin organic oil. Again, nothing at all complicated here. Just the best products on offer. We are huge foodies, and could not imagine going to someone else’s party and spoiling it with subpar food. We have to have the best, so do our clients.

We’ve done quite a few events like this across Altrincham and nearby areas such as Sale, Hale and Timperley, and it’s always the same response — everyone loves it.

What stands out about events like this in Altrincham is how relaxed they are. People aren’t stuck at tables waiting — they’re up and about, chatting, eating when they fancy, and just having a good time. It creates a much better atmosphere compared to more formal catering. It’s exactly why hog roast catering in Altrincham works so well for just about any type of event.

We had plenty of guests come over to take cards, which is always a great sign. Word of mouth at events like this is one of the biggest ways we grow, and when people see it in person, it really speaks for itself.

All in all, it was a fantastic day again. Brilliant people, fantastic atmosphere, and great food — another event well done.
