Hog Roast In Burnley

We had the pleasure of catering a brilliant event in Burnley recently, and it was one of those days that just reminds you why we love doing what we do.

The setup was a relaxed garden party, with around 60 guests — friends and family all coming together to celebrate. The weather wasn’t great, which to be honest, we are used to catering outdoors in this demographic, however the atmosphere more than made it for it. From the start it was exactly what you want at an event like this.

We arrived 2 hours before service, got the hog roasting straight away, whilst we set up the gazebo and tables. As always, once people started arriving and the smell of the hog roast filled the garden, it didn’t take long before guests began gathering around.

It’s always the same — people are always drawn to it. There’s something about seeing the hog cooking and knowing what’s coming that gets everyone talking. And without fail, we get the usual question: “so how long has this been cooking then?”

Once we started serving, the queue built up quickly. Guests were coming back for seconds (and sometimes thirds), which is always a good sign. The crackling went down especially well — as it usually does — and there were plenty of comments about the quality of the meat and how fresh everything tasted. The homemade coleslaw always gets guests asking for the recipe. Thats a guarantee each event to.

We’ve done quite a few events like this across Burnley and nearby areas such as Padiham, Nelson and Colne, and it’s always the same response — people love the food and the whole experience.

What we love about events like this in Burnley is how relaxed they are. People aren’t stuck at tables waiting — they’re moving around, chatting, grabbing food when they fancy, and just enjoying themselves. It creates a much better atmosphere compared to more formal catering setups.

We also had a few guests come over to ask about future bookings, which is always great to hear. Word of mouth at events like this is one of the biggest ways we grow, and when people see it in person, it really speaks for itself.

All in all, it was a fantastic day. Great people, great atmosphere, and great food — exactly what a good event should be.
