Hog Roast Padiham – Evening Party Catering at a Private Garden Event
We were over in Padiham for this one, catering a private garden party just on the edge of town. The edge of Padiham is always a nice spot for events like this — a bit quieter, a bit more space, and people tend to just relax and enjoy themselves.
This was for a 50th birthday, with around 60 to 70 guests expected across the evening. Smaller than some, but often these are the ones with the best atmosphere.
We arrived mid-afternoon to get set up, and it was one of those straightforward jobs where everything just fell into place. Within 15 minutes we had the hog roasting and everything ready to go.
As the afternoon went on and guests started arriving, you could see the interest building. People always drift over towards the hog, asking how long it’s been cooking, how it works — all the usual questions.
Serve time for this hog roast Padiham event was around 7:30 pm, and we got straight into service. Fresh rolls, stuffing, apple sauce and a couple of sauces on the side. The crackling disappeared quickly — no surprise there — and there were plenty of comments about the flavour of the pork.
What stood out at this one was how relaxed everything felt. People were just milling around, chatting, grabbing food when they wanted and going back for more later on.
At one point, we had a group standing nearby chatting away while we were serving, and before long, they’d all been back for seconds without even realising.
That’s exactly why a hog roast works so well for events like this — no pressure, no strict timings, just good food and people enjoying themselves.

By the end of the night, everyone had been fed, everything had been packed down quickly, and we were on the road home not long after. Another straightforward, enjoyable event.
